Molly and Callum-June 2021

West Bagbrough, Somerset

Molly and Callum approached us to design their wedding flowers for their special day in the picturesque village of West Bagborough. Their ceremony was held at the local church, followed by a reception in a family member’s garden under a marquee. With only two simple requests—a colour palette of green and white, and the inclusion of Lily of the Valley in the bridal bouquet—we were excited to craft florals that reflected their vision.

Little did we know that lockdown would soon change their plans. However, adapting to the Covid restrictions was no problem at all! We reworked our designs for a more intimate gathering of 30 guests, and what a beautiful day it turned out to be!

The Ceremony:

The historic charm of the local church required minimal decoration. Outside, we dressed the lynhay with floral arrangements for family photos, which we later repurposed onto our copper-framed arch, creating a welcoming entrance to the marquee. The seamless transition between venues maintained a cohesive and elegant floral theme throughout the day.

The Wedding Breakfast

Due to the smaller more intimate wedding breakfast, we opted for an eclectic mix of glass bottles and lush greenery as the focal point along the trestle tables. Passionflower foliage and delicate white blooms intertwined between the bottles created a whimsical, enchanting feel. On the top table, we designed a wild, cascading floral arrangement that spilled elegantly across the surface, enhancing the natural beauty of the setting.

Focal Point:

For the top table, we wanted to create a playful yet elegant feature that captured the spirit of the day. We suspended copper hoops adorned with flowers, alongside mini clear glass bottles, above the couple. This unique design element became a talking point among the guests, adding an unexpected twist to the décor while staying true to the day’s style.

Bridals

Molly’s only request being to include Lily of the Valley in her bouquet, a cherished family tradition passed down through generations. We love incorporating meaningful flowers into our designs and this was no exception. The bouquet, in the timeless combination of green and white, was a wild, loose, cascading arrangement that perfectly complemented Molly’s beautiful dress, adding both elegance and sentiment to her walk down the aisle.
